I'm a big fan of the BRTC Blemish Recover Balm but since I'm such a product junkie, I just had to purchase another BB cream just because. I've seen a lot of reviews on this and they're quite mixed. Some say it's too sheer and it has poor coverage, some say they it's their HG product.
I've only used it for a few days so I can't comment on the whitening and anti-wrinkle functions yet. I'll have to come back and do a more detailed review in a month.
Application: I apply this with my fingers. (If I'm outdoor for the day, I use moisturizer with SPF 30 before putting this on. The great thing with this BB cream, it already has SPF in it so even if I don't use sunscreen before hand, I'm ok.) I take about a pea size, dot it on my forehead, cheeks, chin and nose and then very lightly pat it in a circular and upward motion with two fingers to spread it. The cream spreads very smoothly and easily eventhough it might look quite thick when you look at it. It's not as thick as BRTC though but I didn't have a problem with BRTC either.
Coverage: Not great. It doesn't cover up my acne scars and doesn't cover up my freckles. This is so sheer. Other than just evening out my skin tone, it doesn't do much to conceal blemishes. I can still see every single mark on my face. I'm sure if I keep layering it on, the blemishes would be less noticeable but I really don't like layering creams on my face. I normally don't even use foundation and I choose really light moisturizers. I have super oily skin so I try not to put too much on it.
Oil Control: The cream has a more dewy finish than the BRTC but it's not greasy. Just like the BRTC, I don't even have to blot my face during the day and that's pretty amazing. It doesn't dry my face out either, it just keeps it very well balanced through out the day. Oh and no clogged pores!
Color: I think this BB cream matches my skin tone better than the BRTC. It's not as white as the BRTC and it looks more natural. I don't find it ashy or grey, it just matches my skin really well especially after letting it sit for 15 mins.
Will I repurchase? Probably. I'll probably switch back and forth between the BRTC and this till they run out. It's hard to find a product that works well with my skin so I'm probably going to stick with them for a long while.

I only use this at night after washing and toning. I try to massage my face for a few minutes while applying this on my face. The next morning my skin is soft and supple. I normally don't see much of a difference when I wake up but this cream really made a difference. I've heard some people say that it takes about a month for you to see a difference. My acne scars are fading, my skin is much more evenly toned and no more dry patches from acne meds. In fact, with the BB cream and the Vitacreme, I don't even use my acne meds anymore. I feel like my skin is healing much faster than when I use my benzoyl peroxide. I'm really amazed how much my skin has improved in the past month. I have super oily skin and this cream did not make my face grease up and didn't even give me one pimple! yay!
You can get this from their USA site or get it from ebay.
Review: BRTC Blemish Recover Balm
I've been using this for about 1.5 months now and this is by far the best "tinted moisturizer" I've ever used. If you're not familiar with BB creams - it stands for Blemish Balm. It's very popular in Asia. Women started using it to cover up their face after plastic surgery. It has tons of benefits to it and really healthy ingredients that some consider it a skincare product and not a makeup. You can use this in place of your moisturizer, foundation, powder and concealer. Just one little half pea size can cover the entire face.
Texture: It's definitely thick but I've never had a problem blending it. I put a half pea size on my finger and then dot the product all over my face. Then I would use two fingers on both hands and lightly pat my face so the product spreads out evenly. I guess you can use a brush too but I think it's faster and easier to use your hands. The light patting helps with circulation too.
Color: I hear a lot of complaints about BB cream that it doesn't come with that many shades. Many BB creams only comes with one shade like the BRTC one I'm reviewing. It comes out a bit beige-ish and when it goes on my face it looks pretty light. Once I pat it in though, it seeps into my skin and it's perfect for my skin color. It does adapt to your skin color fairly quickly. I've heard a few people adding some foundation to it to make the color work for them but I think that defeats the purpose of using a BB cream.
Coverage: Coverage is great! I have tonsssss of acne scars from a horrible break out 6 months ago. This basically covers up most of the scars, even the pitted ones. When I really want a flawless look, I use the BB cream as concealer and spot cover the ones that need more attention. For the amount of product that I need to use, the coverage is unbelievable.
Feel: It feels like I have nothing on my face. It feels lighter than my moisturizer. No complaints.
Oil Control: I have reallllllllly oily skin. I mean reallllly oily. Probably why I've always had to fight with acne. This BB cream does a great job at controling oil. I don't have to blot at all during the day at work, which is amazing cuz usually I would have to blot by mid day or earlier.
After I wash it off: I use those facial cleansing wipes at night to wash my face and then follow with a cleanser or scrub (Neutrogena Stress Control Scrub, or St Ives green tea cleanser, or Mychelle's Fruit Enzyme cleanser). My face looks fresh after I wash the product off and my acne scars are less noticeable. I noticed that my face is brighter, more evenly toned and more fair since I've started using this.
Overall I think it's my HG product. I've had zero break out since using this and my face looks so much healthier. I would definitely recommend this to someone with oily, acne prone skin who's looking for something healthy that can cover up blemishes.
5 stars!
